I’ve only had it for a couples days but I’d be happy to answer any questions. In the end I ended up pulling the trigger on a Haworth Fern and I do not regret it.

Obviously YMMV but in my opinion it’s not a great chair however it’s definitely better than my old staples hyken and if you can get it for really cheap I say go for it. This issue is not a dealbreaker for me personally and I know alot of chairs with 4D adjustable arms tend to have the same issue.Īnyways those are my 2 cents on the leap v2, if you’re looking into buying this chair I highly recommend that you find some place where you can sit on it and try it out. I know this can be somewhat fixed by changing the washers inside the arm rests but over time they will get worn out and you’ll be back to square one. The adjustment on the arms don’t lock into place very well and my elbows kept sliding them back into place a lot of times.

Another thing I noticed is that I found myself rocking side to side a lot, I’m not sure if this is also intended but it felt uneven. At first I thought something was wrong with my chair but after looking up videos and seeing other people commenting on the seat being wobbly and not very comfortable I realized this is how the seat is designed.Ĭrandall even adds more padding to the seat but in my opinion it still doesn’t save the seat from being uncomfortable so I don’t even want to imagine how it feels straight from the manufacturer, the seat just becomes really uncomfortable after a couple hours even after trying different adjustments. The overall built quality feels very cheap considering how much they usually go, the seat and the arms wobble like crazy and yes I know most chairs have a wobble to an extent but the wobble on this chair, specially on the seat, is ridiculous and not only does it wobble a lot but the seat is not very comfortable and this is coming from a guy who used to game on a plastic chair. The seat being able to flex down is a nice touch because it didn’t feel like I was tip-toeing when I raised it and the most important part is that I’m able to sit cross-legged. The armrest felt really nice, personally I wish they were a little softer but nonetheless they’re still pretty comfortable and very adjustable. Another thing I liked about the chair is the tilt tension adjustment, I like sitting upright and I always sat at an angle on my hyken which I hated so having this adjustment was a game changer. The main thing I liked about it was the lumbar support and how you can adjust the tension on it which is what I mainly wanted because I developed back pain from my previous jobs so lumbar support is a must and the leap v2 definitely got it right. The chair came in perfect condition and arrived really quick (shoutout to Crandall office). I’ve had the chair for over a month and after sitting for 40 hours a week on it I have to say…this chair is overrated, now don’t get me wrong it is a good chair but not $500+ good let alone $1,000 which is what it retails for, if anything I would price it at the $200-$300 range. Long story short after a week of looking at reviews, videos and browsing this sub I went with the leap v2 from Crandall. Since my area doesn’t have any stores where I can go and test out popular chairs my best option was to buy them online.
Steelcase leap v2 chair upgrade#
So I started working from home over 2 months ago and I figured I should upgrade from my staples chair since I was going to sit for 8 hours a day. I apologize for the formatting, I’m typing this on my phone.
